What are physical changes? What are chemical changes?
Food is a form of matter: it can be solid, liquid or gas, but most foods are a combination of these states (e.g. oranges are both solid and liquid: the fibrous flesh and the juice). Energy can be used to change matter from one state to another, and a physical change occurs: for example, when water changes from a gas (steam) to liquid, it undergoes a physical change. A physical change has occured if there is a change in state, shape, size or solution. Examples of physical changes that occur when baking cookies (biscuits) :
